we spent..

6 years in preparation for PSLE, and was told it's important for us.

4 years in preparation for O Levels, and was told the PSLE cert is not a tinnie bit essential and that the O level cert is.

and then,

2 blardy short years in JC, and is informed that A levels is probably the most difficult hurdle in your educational years and without it you cannot go into a good university and therefore may not be able to fulfill whatever dreams you may have.

WHAT

THE

HELL.

the no. of years we spend preparing for the majors exams is so disproportionate to its importance.

what are those people thinking?!

We're All In This Together - (by a few jap singers, no idea who)

When There Was Me and You - Hitomi Shimatani

I like her voice. Clear and Crisp. and i think i prefer this version to the original~~

Por Mi Camino Ire - Paulina Holguin

SPANISH VERSION of Gotta Go My Own Way. It's really nice! SPANISH IS SUCH A

You Are the Music in Me (Sharpay's Version) - Mota

Prelims are over! And A's are looming. Indeed, no one fails to remind me of that. ONE MONTH. Its gonna be over in a flash. Life hasn't been exactly fantastic after the prelims. Urgh~ one issue after another. wanted to just slacken abit over the weekend before starting the battle again but all those issues seem to have robbed my mood away.

On a lighter note, Calesta, Sin Yee and I caught Hairspray (finally) at TM yesterday. It was alright, not a fantastic movie but not a bad one at that. And i just have to say, i find Zac Efron much better looking in Hairspray than in HSM, much to Sin Yee's surprise. Calesta agrees with me. :) and Elijah Kelly is an absolute eye candy, with sweet vocals to boot!

Yingqi joined us for our 2nd movie - Ratatouille. the movie was DELICIOUSLY SPLENDID. well worth the 5-star rating and $9.50. Pixar really impressed me this time. The bread looks darn real in the animation. And the way the rat cooks makes me wanna cook like that as well! ohoh and that pan of stuff down there is the real Ratatouille dish.

I wanna cook that dish~

This vegetable stew can be eaten on its own, served with meat, fish, or eggs, or tossed with pasta. Ratatouille can be frozen in airtight containers for up to three months; reheat in the microwave or on the stove. Leave out the basil until just before serving.

Ingredients

Serves 8

1/3 cup olive oil
2 medium onions, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 large eggplants, (2 pounds), peeled in strips and cut into 3/4-inch cubes
4 to 5 medium zucchini, (2 pounds), cut into 1-inch cubes
Coarse salt and ground pepper
3 yellow or red bell peppers, ribs and seeds removed, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
=))

One week of papers is over and there's one more week to go. Whilst i want this to end, i'm not enthusiastic of the A'levels thats looming in a month's time. I've never felt this jaded before, really. On a side note, i don't want to graduate either. Time in JC is simply too short.

Anyways, here's a video of our class, made by Yingqi. Reminiscence and Nostalgia. oh so emo. =)

memories galore~

Sin Yee, Ying Qi and I were just chatting over our ever-favourite 鱼片面 after Bio Paper 2 yesterday on the tremors and tsunamis that happened when YQ [edit] SIN YEE mentioned something about water spouts, or tornado over water. Personally i've never it heard about, much less seen one. Sin Yee recommended this video she saw on Youtube, which is a time-lapse over a day showing the East Coast Beach. Pay attention to the first half of the video, and you'll see this magnificient water spout that flashes past in a sec.

Also, all those articles on the Indon quakes that happened the past 2 days really got me thinking about life. We're fortunate that we don't experience such disasters, but we end up taking life and the people around us for granted. While people over there have learnt to 'lead back normal lives' almost immediately after the incident happened, we have people over here who think its the end of the world when they can't get their hands on the materialistic things they want.

There were also several other articles in TST today that dealt with weighty, and some utterly weird, issues.

1. "More species are facing extinction because of habitat loss, climate change and diseases... 1 in 4 mammals is in jeopardy, as in 1 in 8 birds"
one thing for sure is that humans wont be jeopardised. but its clear that the world's equilibrium is no longer in balance. [wait, was there even an equilibrium in the first place?! >.>] already singapore is facing abnormal weather patterns.

2. "The 118 year old cylinder that has been used as the international prototype for the metric [kilogramme] mass has mysteriously lost 50 microgrammes"
hmmm, someone something is apparently getting too old and shrinking...

3. Thailand bikinis made out of Tilapia skin - touted to be water-proof and can really breathe.
"marketing wares made of tilapia skin after finding a way to tan it so that it resembles leather. "
=.=" if the skin aint waterproof and can really breathe, the fish would be extinct by now, having drowned in its own environment. =.="
Oh and moomoo, you're being overthrown by a fish. Time to learn fish talk.

hell, the world is as unpredictable as women are. I saw on discovery channel 2 days ago that there's a crop circle somewhere out there carrying a message stating that the world will come to an end in 2012. but if it really does, will we even know it? will anyone or anything even mourn for our disappearance? who knows, in some other universe, the disappearance of Earth may just be another space phenomenon, nothing more.
